Mint was set up in 2009 and based in Hamilton, on the outskirts of Glasgow (Scotland!). It
was the brainchild of Phil McKeegan who, having spent too many years to mention politely in
the optical market working for the ‘Big Guys’, decided that by taking a different attitude to the
market and customer service it was possible for the ‘Little Guy’ to take them on.
The key to Mint’s success is remaining true to three commitments: our Delivery priority, our
Products and our Customers.
From the base in Hamilton Mint Eyewear distributes its six brands around the UK and Ireland
and aims for delivery within five working days and has order fulfilment at 95%. We
believe this is the level of service demanded by the market.
Our collections embrace the best of production techniques, materials and design,
three areas close to Phil’s heart. The frames are well made, using modern materials
with stylish, chic and modern designs. Our Brands - Cristal Eyes, OnYX and Quartz – are
in demand.
Mint Eyewear is a committed supporter of the independent optical market as we believe in
the continuity and level of care these practitioners provide and also their importance
to local communities. Mint Eyewear strives to support the independent market and is keen to
promote the benefits of local service.
